breathe...at Root Division Continued
One of the very special installations for our exhibit was the memorial hallway: separated by velvet curtains, it was a quiet, sparsely lit corridor lined with shelves. Each fabric-draped shelf held a framed image of a lost loved one, a name card, and a candle. At the end of the hallway was 'Presence', by John Bartelt, and a table of illuminated white candles. This corridor was a 'space within a space' and offered visitors a place to reflect and be with their emotions away from the bright lights and other visitors in the main gallery
