My Faith
By Kathy Schaal
Being raised one of Jehovah's Witnesses has brought me many blessings through out my life. First of all, getting to know God as a personal being requires the use of his personal name- JEHOVAH as brought out at PS 83:18. We all want our friends to call us by our name and so does he. This gives me a more personal relationship with Jehovah God. My faith and hope and relationship with him have given me a lot of positive things to look forward to, for example: we have the hope of living forever in a perfect, peaceful, paradistic world as Jehovah promises us through out the scriptures. Rev 21:3-5 is one of my very favorite scriptures. It promises us that we won't be sick any more nor face death. That’s the hope I keep focused on. PS 37:9-11 and vs. 29 is comforting to all of us as we won't have to put up with all the evil in the world but are promised that will we will inherit a peaceful world.
I never let CF ruin what I am looking so forward to, I know CF is temporary and definitely realize it's NOT Jehovah's doing or fault that we have to suffer from different sicknesses. Some of you may ask then, why does he allow us to suffer from CF and other things. I know from reading the Bible that Jehovah's enemy, Satan the Devil is ruler of this world as 1 John 5:19 brings out and that he raised a vital issue regarding Jehovah's sovereignty so I know that he is allowing his enemy to prove himself wrong and in his due time he will wipe out Satan and all that is bad around us forever.
Also being raised one of Jehovah's Witness's has given me a world wide brotherhood that I can count on anytime, anywhere. I couldn't be happier and have the hope that I have, I strongly believe if I hadn't been raised a witness of Jehovah. It has let me focus on the positive and not the negative my whole life and any one who knows me knows that’s true. It has also given me the strength even more so now to face the loss of my dear husband and best friend Eric who I look forward to seeing very soon when Jesus will call out to ones in their memorial tombs as John 5:28-29 brings out to wake up and come on out. I look forward to the promise found at Isaiah 33:24 for all of us with CF and other illnesses where it says, " No resident will say: I am sick."
Thanks so much for letting me share my story of faith. I know it helps me through life, I hope it helps all of you.
