A Dream Come True Continued
About a month after JeNiene passed away a friend of mine and nurse that
helped treat my wife, invited me to go horseback riding with her as she is an
avid horse rider herself. So that afternoon I rented a horse from a local trail
company. The ride was an hour long, and it turned out to be the first and only
hour in 5 years that I had been able to “turn off” every thing that was on my mind on
a daily basis for the past 5 years, including the loss of JeNiene! It was an hour
Of "time out"!
After that hour of riding a rental horse I decided right then that I was going to find me a horse to buy and begin riding on a daily basis. I found that horse one day about a month ago on DREAMHORSE and decided ‘that’s my horse,’ an 11 year old
Mustang named El Rojo Grande, meaning "Big Red".
Since that day a month ago I have all but eliminated my back pain for a good part of the day and reduced my pain drug requirement by about 40 percent over a month ago. That feel’s like a huge accomplishment to me. My stress levels while riding all but disappear while I’m on my horse, El Rojo.
The friends that I admire greatly, all thought that I was out of my mind for
wanting to try and ride, as they only saw me getting into more trouble due
To all the health issues in front of me.
