In the shadow of my thoughts
A voice on the other end
Calls out to me
A reflection of my own,
Shared thoughts
She reminds me of years passed
And gives me strength to overcome
And in her I see my soul
Past and present
With years of common struggles
Calling forth our greatest strengths
Blinded by age
Bound by this yearning pain
Common sorrows, broken dreams
Fears of tomorrow
The pain continues
We are bound by the endless cycle of time
Through the love that thrives
As the cycle of life rolls on.
