On Sunday, April 29, 2001 the Breathing Room sponsored “Through the Looking Glass: Images of Adults with Cystic Fibrosis”, the first annual photographic exhibit at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto. The exhibit came to fruition after months of planning by Michelle Compton, director of the Breathing Room, Stephen Boyer, production manager, and many other volunteers and Board members of the Breathing Room. The exhibit consisted of 22 photographs of adults with cystic fibrosis, each in an emotionally compelling image accompanied by poetry or prose written by the adult with CF pictured. This was the largest and most comprehensive exhibit put on by the Breathing Room since its inception in 1997.
