Shawna Jacques
Shawna Kathleen Jacques is the girlfriend of Jereme, a person with cf. Her
dad is a pediatric respitory therapist and mom is a neonatal nurse
practitioner. Shawna has a younger sister and a younger brother. She was born and
raised and currently residing in Seattle, WA.
"I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education because I love kids and I
have gifts that aid in teaching. I am strongly Christian, and I attend a
Christian university, which is how I met Jereme. I love to draw and write
poetry. Both occur as inspiration strikes me. Since I've been on the CF
Message Zone a lot, I've gotten to talk to many wonderful pwcf and pwocf.
Now that I'm in the CF world, I can't and don't want to get out. :-).
My dad is an RT, and thus I was vaguely aware of CF at a young age, although
no one in my family has CF. My dad used to show us the chest physio he did
on the kids at work, and it only recently occurred to me that that was what
that was. I remember he used to tell us a little bit about some of the
patients he cared for (carefully keeping patient confidentiality, of
course), and I remember wanting to meet a lot of the people he talked about".
