Breathing Room
facilitates candid and open communication between adults with Cystic Fibrosis, supports the development of a community of adults with CF and provides education and insight for families, caregivers, and medical professionals who impact our lives.

Michelle Compton
Michelle Compton was born in 1967 and diagnosed with CF at age 13, in 1980. After her disease seriously progressed in her 20s, she was listed for a double-lung transplant. During this wait, she experienced end-stage Cystic Fibrosis, including using 24-hour oxygen, a wheelchair and a bi-pap ventilator. In December 1998, Michelle underwent a successful double-lung transplant, and has enjoyed excellent health for the last two years. She has recently earned a Bachelor's degree in History, and continues to art direct Through the Looking Glass: Images of Adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
